About Sameer
Born and raised in Markham, Sameer Qureshi has spent his life in the community he now hopes to represent as Ward 7 Councillor. From attending local schools and growing up in the neighbourhood to volunteering, community advocacy and public service, Markham has always been home.
Sameer currently serves as a Governor on the Board of Governors at Ontario Tech University and has also been appointed to the Board’s Planning and Strategy Committee. His experience has strengthened his belief that good leadership begins with listening, accountability and bringing people together.
Sameer has also been actively involved in community and public service, working with residents, youth, families and local organizations on issues that matter to them.
For Sameer, this campaign is personal. Ward 7 isn’t just the community Sameer wants to represent — it’s the community that raised him.
